On Wednesday, I will be holding a telephone town hall with residents across West Michigan. This is a great opportunity to ask me a question about legislation being discussed in Washington and how it will impact you! You can read about the latest telephone town hall, my message of hope to the people of France, and more in the November edition of the Huizenga Huddle. http://huizenga.house.gov/news/email/show.aspx?ID=ZJBPWOTQTJALIVYHF7TYZYE2N4
Yesterday, I had an insightful conversation with employees at DSA International in Zeeland. I ended up holding an impromptu town hall on issues regularly discussed in the House Committee on Financial Services. The topics of conversation revolved around the dollar remaining the global reserve currency and the likelihood of the Federal Reserve beginning to raise interest rates. It is great to see a growing number of people take note of the importance of monetary policy and discuss how decisions made at the Fed impact outcomes for millions of Americans every day.
Last week, the House passed the #FORMAct, legislation I authored to make the Federal Reserve System more accountable and transparent to the American people. I am glad to have the support of Speaker Paul Ryan and House Committee on Financial Services Chariman Jeb Hensarling on this needed reform legislation! http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/house-approves-gop-led-bill-boost-fed-oversight-35308373
